Who says the Mets aren't playoff material?

Well, whoever has ever doubted the Mets should watch game 3 of the NLDS vs the Dodger. The Mets offensive team was on fire. Many may think it was an answer back to Chase Utley unsportmen slide into Ruben Tejada in Game 2. Utley took out Tejada and broke his leg. Fans chanted, “UT-LEY SUCKS” and “WE WANT UT-LEY” at last night’s game to show their anger towards him.
Mets lead off the bottom of the 2nd with a single from Travis D’Arnaud that brought Cesepedes in and Duda to second, followed by Curtis Granderson’s double to deep right center bringing d’Arnaud, Wilmer Flores and Juan Lagares home. This inning was an important one for the Mets who now took the lead 4-3 over the Dodgers. D’Arnaud hit a homer to left field and Cesepedes scored in the 3rd. In the 4th, Murphy singled to left bringing Lagares home and Wright to second. Cesepedes then hit a homer to left leaving Wright and Murphy to score. Mets ended their scoring in the 7th with Conforto’s hit to center that lead d’Arnaud home, Flores to third and Lagares to second. This was followed by Granderson’s double to left bringing Flores and Lagares home. Flores followed by Lagares and Granderson was the main line of the night. They all scored off each other twice during the game. The offensive part of last night’s team was incredible…best all season.

The Mets will need to bring this energy into their next game. With plays that they made in that game clearly proves they have what it takes to go all the way. Maybe this will be the year for the New York Mets.

What a comeback for the Giants!

21 seconds to win the game? What are the chances of that! Eli Manning’s 81 yard drive capped of with 8 yard pass to Larry Donnell is the play that won the game for the Giants over the 49ers’. Carlos Hyde’s touchdown with 1:45 remaining in the 4th, made the Giants a little nervous. Having the lead for the 1st three quarters and then getting it taken away in the 4th, the Giants weren’t going to let that go. They answered back with that incredible touchdown made by Donnell. Both teams played a great game of long strides and great receptions but the Giants showed that had the last word in this game.  While the 49ers’ were on top of their interceptions with Tramaine Brock interception of Manning’s pass to Beckham in the end zone, the Giants could sense the need for good offensive plays.

With a great win come a lot of victories. For Manning, he reached his 27th comeback victory in the 4th quarter and overtime. Coach, Tom Coughlin, surpassed Paul Browner, Hall of Famer, for 12th comeback career victories with 167 games. Many celebration after this game by the players and fans.

New season for the Rangers

The New York Rangers will be heading to Chicago for their first game of the season. This may be a hard one for the Rangers, who will have to watch the Hawks raise up the flags they earned last year. With the Rangers coming so close to taking it all last year, they will have to be good sports in honor of the Hawks tonight. Losing to Tampa Bay, 4-3, in the conference finals was not a good way to end the season. It was a tough lose but I believe they will come back strong this year. With a few new faces such as Emerson Etem who will replace Hagelin, adds great height and speed to the team, which they lost with Hags. Acquiring Antti Raanta in exchange for Cam Talbot, was a difficult trade. Talbot helped the Rangers stay together when Lundqvist got injured from fellow teammate, Ryan McDonough's stick. After taking a stick to the neck, Lundqvist was out for the entire middle to end of the season. Most of the wins from the season were earned by Talbot, but the Rangers realized that he needed to be a starter with the skills he has. They certainly weren't going to let go of Lundqvist for him. Sending Talbot to Edmonton Oilers was the right move for Talbot but not so good for the team. They are going to have to find new ways to  build up again. Many of the key players like Stephan, Lundqvist, and Nash, are getting older and are looking for more money. Acquiring these new guys like Etem and Raanta is going  to help  the start of building up their team so when the key players leave, they have a stable team to work with. Working with young guys on skills and ability will help get a closer look on where the team will be a few years down the road. Getting a hold of these young, skilled players and keeping them, is something the Rangers are going to have to keep a close eye on.

The President's Trophy winners will have to put their all into tonight's game. With key player, Patrick Kane for the Hawks, still under investigation, the Rangers will have to keep a close watch on him. With everything surrounding his case, he is going to come out strong and try and prove him self on the ice. The Rangers have taken the win 3 of out the last 4 meetings with Chicago. With stats like this, the Rangers have a pretty good chance tonight. Winning the 1st game of the season would give them the boost of confidence to carry into Friday's game in Columbus, and most importantly, Saturday's home opener. Lundqvist tweeted yesterday, "After a fun summer in Swe I really enjoyed coming back to NY for training camp and the start of another season. One to remember I hope!"
